A museum in an
historical site

Since August 1st 1986, the National St. Gotthard Museum has been welcoming visitors from all over the world. Thanks to the commitment of the Pro San Gottardo Foundation to preserving the heritage of the Pass, the cultural attractions were updated in 2022 with a new permanent exhibition. The visitor experience is enriched by dynamic temporary exhibitions, created in close collaboration with ALPS – Swiss Alpine Museum Bern.

Gastronomic offer

The restaurant "la Vecchia sosta" offers refined gastronomy and is a meeting place for travelling companies, groups and banquets. Tasting typical local dishes or refined dishes that satisfy even the most discerning palates, it is located in the former horse stable, with attractive architecture and historical furnishings. The restaurant is located in the same building as the kiosk, the self-service restaurant and the Gotthard National Museum.
